January started off busy. 

 

We have had the privilege to host,   Diane and Francisco Sabado, missionary doctors and pastors from the Dominican Republic.   This time Luke age 5 was with them.  They expect to be back around the last of March or the first of April.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Chris Newton, a missionary to Trinidad was also here for a week.    He attended a local campmeeting, feasted on the word of God and was built up and encouraged.  Praise God for how He brings just what we need at the right time.  What great joy it is to have these folks in our home and to be able to bless them on their journey of serving the Lord!!!!

 

February was busy with 2006 project planning, NWM Board meeting, and the never ending job of working through emails.   Since my trip to MX in Dec., it has been a constant struggle to work through all the emails that piled up.

 

The NWM Board met on 2/18 for a review of 2005 and to preview the 2006 plans.   At the end of this update is a summary of the NWM activities. 

 

Mack had a mild stroke on 2/21 and spent a few days in the hospital.   After bringing him home from the hospital, I came down with the flu.  

Mack is doing well and is back at work and I am on the mend.  Praise be to God for His healing power and thanks to each of you who were praying for us.

 

Upcoming activities to keep in prayer:

2005 Summary

 

  • 1 Team of 15 people to D.R.
  • 2 individual placements in the D.R.
  • 2 ministry trips to MX
  • 1 developmental trip to S. Africa
  • 49 - Bibles sent to Nigeria through MISSION BIBLES

Distributions: (Tall kitchen trash bags used unless otherwise stated.)

  • Nicaragua - 8 Boxes of clothes, shoes & misc. items and 1 Box of toys for Christmas
  • Good Samaritan Mission in FL - 2  (lg. trash bags) of clothes, 1 - bag of shoes, 1 - of toys & misc. items, and 50 lbs of beans and 50 lbs. of rice
  • West Virginia -10 Boxes of winter clothes 
  • Manos Extendidas in TX - 19 Bags of clothes & household items, 1 bag & 2 boxes of shoes, 3 car seats, 1 stroller, & 2 space heaters
  • Casa MAMI orphanage in Reynosa, MX - 2 Bags of clothes, 1 lg. box of school supplies, Christmas presents for 34 girls, Christmas tree & decorations, groceries, personal care items, and household type items
  • To Elma Valazquez for distribution in poor colonias - 5 bags of work/play type clothes
  • South Africa - Some toys were taken & given out at the hospital near Tembe
  • Dominican Republic - 1 box sent to Tony & Ruth in Higuey, 3 boxes sent to the Sabado's in Santo Domingo.  Plus I took 1 suitcase full of supplies & gifts when I went in Feb. and ministry & personal supplies given when the Sabado's were here.          
  • Also, in Dec. we distributed approx. 110 Christmas gift packs to children at 3 mission sites in MX, Valles, Laguna, and San Jose.

Besides what is listed above, NWM sowed into a number of ministries who work in different ways around the world including Katrina and the tsunami disaster relief, a radio broadcast in the D.R., printed materials in a number of languages, a crusade in Poland, and helping new churches in MX.
