“Happy New Year”

Can you believe it !  2006 is here and I’m wondering where 2005 went.  Have you had that thought?

Hope all of you had a great Christmas with family and friends celebrating our Lord’s birth.

I had hoped to get  this newsletter out to you before Christmas, but with being in Mexico for 2 weeks and then going to Virginia to be with my family, there was just not enough time.

Here is a picture of my poinsettia this year.  Not quite as red as last year.

Following are some pictures and short comments on what has happened since my last newsletter.

May ended with a short visit by Pastor Francisco and Dr. Diane Sabado.  What a joy it is to have them stay with us, even for a short time.

Before leaving for MX in June, we were able to send 8 boxes of clothes, shoes, toys, and misc. items to World Mission Outreach in NC for shipment to Nicaragua.  We, also, delivered 2 lg. bags of clothes, 1 bag of shoes, 2 bags of toys, decoration type items, beans, and  rice to Good Samaritan Missions here in Florida.

Here my van is almost packed for Mexico (6/15-7/4).  As you can see, I never travel alone, but take as much as possible to several ministries.  This load of supplies was shared with Manos Extendidas, Casa MAMI orphanage, and Torre Fuerte Church for distribution at a mission sight.

This was possible through your financial donations and the donations of friends, family, and Bell Shoals Baptist Church clothes closet.   Thank you and God bless you for your labor of love.

While in Mexico, I took a vacation with a couple of my Mexican friends.  We visited San Luis Potosi, Real de Catorce, San Miguel Allende, Guanajuato, Leone, MX City, and Montorrey.   We traveled 2500 miles on this trip, saw a lot of beautiful scenery, and had a great time.  After 10 years of ministry in MX, what a joy it was for me to do this.

Here we (Marga, Linda, Lourdes) are at our hotel in San Miguel Allende.   For the past couple of years, Lourdes and her sisters have provided a home for me in Reynosa.

In July, we had our first ever family vacation.  We met my three daughters and 4 of my 6 grandchildren in Gatlinburg, TN for a week vacation.  We had a great time together.

October, I was involved in the Global Impact Celebration (Mission’s Conference) at our church.

November, I visited my friend, Sheila,  in San Diego, whom I had not seen for at least 5 yrs.

December 2-17, it was back to Mexico with more supplies than in June, no room for even a passenger.  Through your giving, NWM was able to provide Christmas gifts to over 100 children in Valles, Laguna, and San Jose, MX.  Below:   Church service in Valles.

Above:  Elma gladly receives the Christmas gifts from NWM for the 34 girls now at Casa MAMI.

Below: Coral shows off the decorated Christmas tree, which NWM provided for the children.

Also, NWM provided  the orphanage with a good supply of groceries.   It was a joyful time with Elma at the grocery store.

This is just inside the gate of Casa MAMI

The dining tables were outside.  A team was coming the week after I left to enclose a dining room.

Also, God opened doors for me to share and minister at 3 women's home Bible study groups.

Upon my return from MX, I prepared to visit my family in NC and VA for the Christmas holidays.

In my spare time (ha), there was sorting, packing, mailings, planning, and emails, as well as, the daily things that we all have to do.   Needless to say there was no time for grass to grow under my feet.

MISSION BIBLES

New Way Missions receives many request for Bibles, so to fulfill these request, we have a Mission Project for all who have 1 or more extra Bibles sitting around collecting dust.  We're calling this MISSION BIBLES.

Here is how this Mission Project will work:

1.  Just let me know that you desire to do this and how many Bibles you have for this Project.

2.  I'll send you the names and addresses of folks who have requested a Bible for each Bible you have.

3.  You will then mail them a Bible in an insulated folder or box.  If you desire you can write a special message inside the Bible or enclose a note.  (Cost will be around $ 5.00 unless you send it first class which will be around $ 10.00.  It's up to you.)

4.  Let me know that the Bible/s have been sent.

5.  Pray for these brothers and sisters in Christ.

6.  Encourage these people in their walk with Christ via emails or letters (if you are comfortable with them having your address).   You can help disciple these brothers and sisters in Christ and they will encourage you.

(Be careful not to promise anything which you cannot give or which might get complicated.)

How simple can a Mission Project be!!!!

As of this newsletter 49 Bibles have been mailed.  There are 200+ request still waiting in my email box.   So you can see your help is needed.

WEB PAGE UPDATE:  www.newwaymissions.org

Our web page has taken on a few changes.   If you have never visited our site or if it’s been a while, please take time to check it out.   There’s still more to come, so please visit our sight often.  Once again, my thanks goes to Brian Rubright for his help with the web site.

Check out the 2006 PROJECTS now posted and look for more to appear in the next couple of months.

UPCOMING PLANS:

April 2006, NWM is offering a project in the state of Chihuahua, MX helping with the construction of a new orphanage building.  Deadline for registering for this project is Feb. 8, 2006.

Lord willing, I will be back in MX for my friend, Peggy Avalos’ wedding on the 15th.  Plans are to take another load of supplies.

Oct. 7-14, 2006, NWM is offering  a project in Guatemala.  This is mainly construction.  However, some opportunities exist for ministry at a local hospital.

Many opportunities exist in Mexico, the Dominican Republic, and West Virginia.  Let me know the areas that you are interested in serving.

We are also praying about going to India, Nigeria, Uganda, Peru, or Nicaragua in 2006.  Let me know if God has laid either of these areas of the world on your heart.

As you can see 2006 may be a full year.  Please remember these things in prayer.

Also, please remember that these trips have a cost, so your financial help will be greatly appreciated.

Checks marked for specific trips will be placed into that account and not be used for general expenses.

We extend our thanks once again to those who have prayed for us and have supported NWM through your generous donations.

NWM is a 501(c)3 organization and all donations are tax deductible.

YOUR HELP IS REQUESTED and It’s so EASY!

If you have a Food Lion in your area, you can help New Way Missions continue to help people around the world just by linking your MVP card to New Way Missions.  Through the Food Lion’s Shop and Share Program, a percentage of your spending will be donated to New Way Missions once you link your MVP card to NWM.   You can start this at any time and goes into effect at the beginning of the quarter after you link or re-link your card.  If you have done this before, remember it must be done yearly.

Here is how to do this.

  1. On the Internet – www.FoodLion.com – clink Fundraising or Shop and Share then link or re-link your MVP card to New Way Missions,   Brandon, FL.
  2. By phone – call 704-633-8250, Ext. 3810 and they will help you.

Thanks to all those who helped us in 2005 through this avenue and thanks to all those who will link with us for 2006.

Now may He who supplies seed to the sower, and bread for food, supply and multiply the seed you have sown and increase the fruits of your righteousness, while you are enriched in everything for all liberality, which cases thanksgiving through us to God.

For the administration of this service not only supplies the needs of the saints, but also is abounding through many thanksgivings to God, while through the proof of this ministry, they glorify God for the obedience of your confession to the gospel of Christ, and for your liberal sharing with them and all men, and by their prayer for you, who long for you because of the exceeding grace of God in you.  THANKS BE TO GOD FOR HIS INDESCRIBIABLE GIFT!!!!   AMEN.

II Corinthians 9:10 - 15

And God bless you.
